I'm an American wanting to relocate to Panama. I want to apply for one of the three new work permits: the Highly Skilled Worker Permit. I have an MBA and will find a job in marketing. Does anyone know any details about this? Can I then bring my husband and 12 yr old son with me on a family permit? I need my husband to be able to work. Also can anyone recommend a reasonably priced Panamanian lawyer to contact? We plan to visit Panama in Jan/Feb, and at that time I will bring with all the documentation I need for the work permit application and meet with the lawyer. Once I obtain the permit I plan to move to Panama alone (probably next summer), take an intensive Spanish class for 4 weeks to strengthen my Spanish and find a marketing job. Then my husband and son will join me and my husband will repeat what I just did (except he is in sales). What do you think of my plan? All suggestions welcome!
