Solar PV (Photovoltaic) and LED lighting

In Canada and Mexico, I worked as an Energy efficiency consultant.This means that I assessed homes and business sites for ways to reduce electric power costs and in many cases eliminate the power bill totally. I have not seen many Solar panels installations in the 3 weeks I've been here. Does anyone know of any homes or businesses who have installed Solar PV or switched to LED lighting? The cost per kilowatt is over 4 times what we pay in Canada and most of the States. So it would be very cost effective to do Solar PV here. I'd appreciate hearing any comments from anyone who has done a Solar PV install. Thanks !
