Requirements for residency in Panama?

Hi, I would appreciate it if anybody could tell me what the legal requirements to get permanent residency in Panama are. My husband and I are considering opening a business there but we obviously first need as much info as possible. I heard that you have to invest minimum US$300.00 or deposit the amount on a bank account. I would like to know if this is so and if there are any other requirements. Any webpage with all this legal info would also be of great help. Thanks in advance for any response.
