A little bit more information is needed. You mentioned SSI, is it due to a life long disability or current? If you have your SSI check directly deposited into your U.S. bank account and travel home every six months, that should not be an issue. But it all depends on your SSI payment and what the circumstances are in why you are receiving it.
Rather than post your info on line, you can send me a PM and hopefully I can help a little. I have family members on SSI and they have no restrictions. Also, I would try and call SS and talk with another person. Sometimes you will get different answers. It also depends on your age. Do not tell them you are thinking about moving, just ask general questions and be vague.
