Moving to Panama

I there, My partner and I are coming to Panama in June or July and we are planing to stay for a month or so to see if we like it. We are both retired. We will have purchased return air fare tickets before we leave Canada so my question is if we like Panama can we apply for the Visa after being there for one month and how long does it take to get a Visa. Any advise is very welcomed. Thanks. Charles.
