I am very new to this forum and as such would like to start by saying hello to everyone. I am a U.S. citizen living in Cotacachi, Ecuador for the last 2 1/2 yrs. Do to medical issues and the altitude here we are being forced to sell our beautiful home and move to lower ground.
We have been researching both Panama and Belize. So here is my question.
I see many things written about bringing a container and car in via the pensianado visa not really being "tax free". I am at a loss as to what they mean. What fees can I expect to pay to bring my treasured items? Panama really makes it seem like the benefits to bringing a car and container are so wonderul, but to hear some people describe it gives me cause for pause.
Can anyone shed some light on this wonderful benefit of the pensianado visa??
