Budgets

Ok, we all know that budgets can vary for a variety of reasons but after reading here and elsewhere about the cost of living we have developed a preliminary estimated budget that seems to be really accurate and would provide the quality of life we seek.

So what is that quality? Basically to make us happy we would need to be able to live in Boquete the following way:
1. Housing - Our desire would be for a 2 bedroom house built to quality standards (ideally about 1,200 -1,500 sqft in a good location

2. Food - We both cook, so our desire is the ability to buy fresh quality produce , meats and poultry without worrying about the cost

3. Going out - While we love to cook we would anticipate eating lunch and dinner out at least a few times a week

Basically for us a carefree life means moving around and enjoying the local and regional delights without worrying about surviving.

Based on this here is our budget (monthly costs) and we would love to get feedback and comments.

Rent - $800
Electric, gas, water - $60
Internet - $40
Car Ins - $35
Car Gas - $50
Food For at Home - $200
Food Out - $300
Medical Out of Pocket - $100
Entertainment - $300
Cell Phones - $30

Total Monthly - $1,915
