President Varela was in Boquete recently and gave the order to begin the $22.5 Million Water Distribution / Treatment Project.
The enormous water distribution project for Boquete is now underway. You might recall our mention of the announcement of this project last year. It is an exciting development to see the work begin even if it is on Panama time. The investment reflects a commitment of both the central and local governments to the growth of Boquete. The project will further actualize Boquete as a world-class residential and tourism destination. It is a part of a major national effort already well underway to dramatically improve water systems and sanitation country-wide.
The launch with President Varela was well-attended, including Boquete Mayor Emigdio Walker Vásquez and Ana Gabriela Ortiz, the Boquete Mayor’s wife. Ana Gabriela is also your Scotia Bank executive here in Boquete.
