Aug.10-18 visit to Panama

Greetings,
I am planning a visit to Panama next month and would love to meet up and chat with others who work or have successfully retired to Panama, as I am also considering this option in the not too distant future.

Since this is my first trip to Panama, I would also appreciate any suggestions that you could offer re: hotels, sights to see or skip, the best way to transit the Panama Canal, visiting San Blas/Kuna Yala, other day excursions, food/restaurants etc.
