Two days after the Public Prosecutor announced the opening of an investigation into the involvement of former President Ricardo Martinelli and his family in a consortium developing hydroelectric projects, we learned that his son Luis Enrique Martinelli Linares left the country.
He left Panama Friday, bound for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, in the company of his brother Alejandro Adames Garuz, son of former Secretary of the Security Council Alexander Garuz. Adames is Garuz manager Isthmus Power Corporation Ltd. , a consortium of electricity generation in the shareholders listed as exgobernante, children and Navin Bhakta , linked to the scandal of the brokerage character Pacific Financial (now in liquidation) and quite involved in the National Assistance Program (PAN).
With them traveled Ivone Martinelli Matute, Matute Martinelli and Hilda, wife and daughter –respectively - Mario Martinelli Berrocal , brother of the president. The group departed from Albrook at 10:30 am, on the plane with registration N799RM owned by former president Ricardo Martinelli who is now in hiding, some say Miami Florida, while others say Paraguay, which has no extradition treaty with Panama.
