Has anyone tried to withdraw cash from an ATM in Panama City recently, using their foreign bank-card/or debit-card?
Today, I withdrew some cash from the ATM inside Banco Nacional (on via Espana). At the end of the transaction, I got the message : "Clave System will deduct 5.25 USD for this transaction. This is in addition to whatever charges your banking institution may charge you"
WTF??!
For the past 5 months, I have always used this particular ATM. Mainly because it never, ever charged me anything!
Today, I get a 5.25 USD fee.
I was in a hurry, so I went ahead and made the withdrawal anyway. Thinking there must be a problem with the machine, I decided to check other ATMs. I tested the one in Banco General (across the road), and the another one in Multibank.
Same thing!
