Hi there.
So, a pal of mine of Germany is flying to Panama in a few days.
He'll be in Panama for at least 2 months.
Here's his dilemma (LOL) : he's got a fridge filled with food ))))) Not even real food, mostly the fast-food variety --- the kind you simply stick in a microwave.
Last night, he asked me if it won't be a problem for him to pack all this crap, and simply take it with him to Panama. I had to admit (embarrassingly), that I had no idea (haha). I wasn't sure what Panama's customs laws were on stuffing your suitcase with packets of chicken wings, or pork chips, or sandwiches, etc, etc.
As he intends to shut down his refrigerator, I advised him to simply throw them into the trash, and buy cheap food here, in Panama. Who needs the hassle at the airport, right?
But, to be honest, I myself am curious : exactly what are the rules regarding such minor food items? (I already know the laws regarding raw ingredients being brought in through customs, especially from certain tropical countries)
