Where to stay

My husband and I are hoping to make a move within the next three years. My research keeps leading me back to Panama. We are looking into taking a 10 day trip in February to check things out and decide what area we might like to reside. We are planning to rent to start but the dream is to own a small resort. Nothing glamorous! No restaurant! Maybe 6 to 10 units including our residence and perhaps a bar on site. Any advice or suggestions about where we should stay and how we should travel around when we come in February are welcome.
