El Valle for the weekend

I need to pick up my Pensionado Visa next week in PC, so I am taking the opportunity to visit El Valle (Golden Frog Inn) over the weekend for the first time there. I need to decide where ultimately to settle, and so far I have only spent time in Boquete and some coastal areas - can't stand the heat of the coast. For El Valle dwellers - is there an expat watering hole where i might pick up some info? I am eager to see first hand what sort of accoms might be available for what level of rent. Looking forward to arriving there around dinner time Saturday!
