Hello Everyone - I'm a new member, but long-time reader of this forum. I'm retired US military with good retirement income. Me and my wife will be empty nesters in a couple of years and have been looking at Panama as a retirement option. We have only visited Panama for a short period many years ago, and plan to rent for at least a year before we buy - if we decided to stay. I know things have changed drastically since our visit. Question - where would a couple approaching sixty find an affordable, safe, and conveniently located 2-3 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment? We don't want to pay an arm and a leg, (budget in the range of $700.00 - $1,000.00) but we do want a nice, clean, and safe location that is close to the usual necessities such as shops, malls, hospitals, etc...
