A friend of mine wants to move to Panama, and take up a job teaching English
She's Kenyan by birth, currently living in the UK.
I explained to her the basics about moving here, and the things she needs to take into consideration.
However, I am not at all informed about the specifics for those who want to teach English here.
For instance :
(a) I assume the TEFL certification is a requirement? Is there any other certification needed?
(b) Without knowing much about this, I told my friend that : to teach English, she would have to apply for a work-visa, which would be handled by whichever school or institution employs her. The visa itself would have to be obtained there, in the UK.
Was I correct in saying this?
(c) Some knowledge of Spanish is, of course, required. But, would she need some certification, which attests to her Spanish skills?
