question about buying plane tickets for relocation

Hi we are relocating to Panama. We are going for a month and then going to Thailand for 2 months and then coming back to Panama to stay and get our residency.

I am not sure how to book our tickets. Can someone help?

We will be in Panama approx Dec 28 thru approx Feb 1st. Then Thailand for 5-8 weeks and then back to Bocas when the high season is over.

I know you can't enter countries without return tickets and I don't want eat more than one ticket into Panama on which I am not returning (once residency papers are filed).

Can someone help answer this?
