I arrived in Boquete, Panama in July 2016 having driven from the US. Driving to Panama to deliver my car to the port we were stopped because we got car registration at the Dolega office instead of the aduana in David. The car was impounded. Although the fine after some days of waiting was reduced to zero, it is still impounded as we had to return to the US for health reasons before this decision was eventually arrived at.
We did not hire Nixia Guerra as our lawyer to check the car out of aduana. We only asked for an estimate for her power of attorney.
Nonetheless she somehow got ahold of our car title and requires a large sum of money for it's return and is filing a lawsuit evidently to acquire the car.
This is my experience of Boquete.
