Criminal history background check

My wife and I are considering a move to Panama. We have visited a few times over the last 5 years, and feel that the Panama lifestyle fits our needs in retirement.

I am retired for 8 years, anf my wife will be retiring early next year. As we are both under the age of collecting Social Security, and living off of personal savings, we would most likely want to gain residency via the Friendly Nation Visa.

My question is this: I have a recent DWI conviction (Jan 2015) and 2 previous convictions of same (more than 20 years ago. Would convictions of this kind prevent me from gaining such a Visa?
