Hello, we're planning our first exploratory trip to Panama - becoming a snowbird is my next life goal! This trip will be just a couple of weeks in an apartment in Punta Chame. I know a little French and German but no Spanish (yet!) For this trip I booked a hotel near the airport for the day of arrival and the night before departure to give us time to navigate between Panama City and Punta Chame by bus. Am I being realistic - will bus travel work to get around for general shopping and getting around? I'm really looking for retirement options where I don't have to rely on my eyes the way I need to in order to safely operate a vehicle. I'm not decrepit - in fact I love walking and hiking - I'm just realistic about my trifocals :) Thanks for your help - I'm so excited! I'm looking forward to many exploratory trips while we seek out our place in the sun.
