Buenas noches a todos!
I'm looking to buy a used car.
I've read all the posts here pertaining to buying cars in Panama --- from dealers, or private individuals..............the things to watch out for, and take into consideration............insurance............etc, etc
I already made up my mind to get one from a dealer, as it's safer and less hassle, albeit more expensive.
However, I found a really good one, being sold by a guy here in PTY. Yesterday, I went to see the car; I took along my mechanic (a friend of mine), who inspected the car, and found it to be in excellent shape.
I also inspected the paperwork, and all seems in order.
So, I only have one question: regarding the title itself. Before I buy, I want to check the title, to ensure there are no outstanding fees, fines, etc, etc.
I asked the seller, and, to my surprise, he said he doesn't know where this can be done. (Weird)
I assumed that it should be done in the Munincipio.
Am I right?
Gracias
