Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and have so many questions. For now, I'll just ask this one...
Please bear with me as I try to include as much info as I can, in order to get the most straightforward answer(s) as possible.
48, divorced 3+ yrs ago (after 20+yrs marriage), was mainly a stay-home mom (no pension for that), no career (but have varied work experience), some college, and very little savings.
In MO/USA, decided to move to FL...then I thought "Why stop there?". I started researching living abroad (in a tropical location). The research has led me to Panama. I know I want to visit, whether or not relocating is feasible.
Since the divorce, my lifestyle has changed dramatically. And 'm proud to say, for the most part, I've adjusted well. The unknown is scary but that won't stop me from trying something new. Now, finances, that's another story.
I'm willing to do as much as I can on my own to save money. But I know that there are expenses (atty, shipping belongings, documents, etc.) that cannot/will not be avoided.
So, is moving to Panama a pipe dream...or a real possibility?
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this AND thank you in advance for ANY advice &/or opinions. I'm all ears....errr....eyes.
