Hi - couple headed to retirement in 10 years, but looking to get to a place to retire to early. Maybe ready to move in 2-3 years. Details:
- We want to learn Spanish and see how well we integrate with locals
- We want to farm, at a hobby level
- We love both the beach and mountains and would like to be somewhere in between
- $2500 a month is doable, but $2000 a month is far more sustainable for us
- I'd want a car, just to explore and stay busy
Saying we understand there will be an adjustment and going through that adjustment are two very different things, but we have a Canadian demeanor and tend to be nice about change
That said, we have a few tough ones to deal with:
- our youngest son is autistic and will likely be with us forever. He's currently 13
- I need internet if we move soon - I can consult remotely. That said, I kinda need "good" internet and stable power
Long and short: we don't want to live in Panama just because it's cheap. We want to live in Panama because we don't want to live in North America any more. We are also looking at Costa Rica and Nicaragua in S/A, and Europe as well.
Thoughts?
