I have read that a bank trust is acceptable as income. I have SS and trust income in the form of monthly interest on a rather large principal. At my age, the "for life" issue is somewhat moot, as I'm in my 70s, so the expectation of a $250K trust, fulfilling guaranteed monthly payment for the next few years is not a stretch. This monthly payment (as I said, not an annuity, but even annuities don't go on forever) plus SS exceed the $1000 requirement, so the question is the acceptability of the bank trust. Anyone have info on this?
