"Friendly Nations" visa and economic ties

Hello,

I would like to move to Panama, but I am not sure how to get residency, considering that I am French and work as an engineer (which is not a job for a non-Panamanian...) in the middle of my career. Could you provide some insights about the real options to show economic ties, as required to obtain a "Friendly Nations" visa?

Suppose you create a new company to apply for the visa. How do authorities make sure you have or will have economic ties with Panama? In the extreme case where the company is an empty shell, do they cancel the visa eventually? I do not understand the process and the actual constraints/requirements from Panamanian authorities.
