From a friend I met about 10 years ago in the La Estencia B&B on Ancon Hill, he has since retired from the U.S. Navy & establishing his residence in Panama. For questions/comments you can email him at: [email protected] He & his wife are Colombian born & speak Spanish.
The following is a recent email from him:
Hi Lou,
How is it going Lou? ... all goes well here, just got back from Panama last weekend. So I'm officially on the way for my permanent visa as a "Retired resident" in Panama, got my temporary card or cedula, in five years I have the option to begin the process for citizenship... who knows?
I went there seeking for my retirement resident visa and it went very well, I think I landed with a great group of lawyers, POLS attorneys, a law firm that is extremely professional, (Carmen and Pedro)) streamlined all my paperwork with immigration and as well as my real estate which I left that as secondary but the head attorney (Jon owner of the firm) provided some great advise and left there with great results... I have to return to Panama to pick up my permanent cedula and so I'll be returning hopefully in October though it'll be ready in August/September timeframe. If there's anyone looking for a great group of attorneys these are the folks to go to (I wish I would have known them from the beginning), and if they can't get you what you need they'll provide excellent resources where you can go to. Anyway my brother if I don't get to enjoy my land, then I hope my children get to spend some quality time down in the tropics... ok my brother take good care and hope you share my good news with anyone you know who may need some good legal help with immigration, real estate etc...etc... check out their website.
Stay safe and many blessings!
