My Panamanian wife and I are retiring soon in Panama. We have a couple of questions about our shipment of household goods
1. How detailed do we have to be with the listing of contents? For example we have multiple boxes of Christmas items. Can we just put "Artículos de Navidad" on the manifest or do we have to list in more detail (ie 12 ornaments, 5 baby jesus))?
2. We have a few pieces of wood furniture that we are bringing. Family heirlooms. Anyone have experience with the Panamanian Quarantine Import Permit requirement? Is this just a permit or do we have to do some sort of special fumigation?
Please don't give advice to leave all the stuff behind! That aint going to happen. We know exactly what we are getting into here!
Just looking for some perspective here from others that have recently brought in household goods. Sometimes the rules don't apply to Panamanian citizens like they do with Gringos but I wanted to be prepared.
