Duelo is the winner of the 2019 National Grand Prize for Journalism in Panama. For those of you with an interest in Panama history, you can Google search Duelo and although it will be found in Spanish, you can translate it to English, Duelo is a multimedia special where journalism and art come together to revive the memory processes surrounding the US Invasion of Panama, which took place on December 20, 1989. Many of the journalists were not even born at that time or were very young, so it gives an interesting story line to the chronicles. It brings together nine chronicles with a focus on victims and 61 images and works of local and international artists, who have poetic and elliptical relationships with the texts. Led by the group of journalists Concolón in partnership with the Commission December 20, 1989, the Casa Santa Ana Foundation and the Cultural Center of Spain, intends to think of the past in the present: the disaster that was, the pains that remain and what it is urgent to repair to build a future. In remembrance of the words of Rudyard Kipling 'Lest we Forget'. Parts of this article were in the Star.
