I have received my social security for the past 13 years by having it direct deposited in a bank account I have in Tennessee. However they suspended my social security because I sent the form in late that you have to send every two years to prove that you are still alive. Unfortunately at the same time I had an overdraft on my Tennessee account because some automatic renewal to a site on the internet that I thought I had cancelled. Anyhow as a result the bank closed my account and when social security started to make deposits again it was returned. I called the bank but they won't reopen the account unless I go there in person. Anyway I went to Banistmo here in Volcan so the girl filled out a form for me to have social security deposited in an account with Banistmo. They provided me with a new account with only a $10 deposit to open it. I only had to show them my cedula and the letter from social security saying my direct deposit had been returned. In 15 minutes I walked out of the bank with a new account and the form which I mailed to the American Embassy in Panama City. Th bank provided the form which they stamped and signed and put in the routing number and the account number. Pretty efficient for Panama if you ask me.
