For those traveling out of Panama be advised to buy anything from Duty Free America.
A couple of years ago I bought some booze at Duty Free America and it didn't show up at the gate. The flight attendants said this happens all the time and the actually held up the plane until everyone's stuff was delivered to the gate.
Like an idiot I decided to try this again a couple of months ago with $160 of Japanese Whiskey. Of course DFA didn't make it to the gate and the flight attendants told everyone "its not coming, we don't know why". They also said this happens all the time.
I called DFA, based in Miami, numerous times to get a refund. I even sent them a fax as they don't publish an email. Never heard from them. I had to resort to making a claim with my credit card company and they took care of it.
These guys at Duty Free America are totally running a scam. I have purchase duty free all over the world and have only had these problems at Tocumen DFA. I don't about the other duty free places.
So don't be an idiot like me and buy from Duty Free America. Let me know if others have had the same problem as I am going to see if we can get these guys kicked out of Tocumen.
