Attorney Emptying Bank Account

A Panamanian attorney setup a company for me and my wife as well as assited us obtaining a bank account. Per our request the attorney closed our bank and withdrew all of the funds then failed to transfer the funds back to our US account. We have the documentation relating to the entire money tranfre and the attorney's confirmation that the funds are going to be sent.

Has anyone else ever had a similar situation or can recommend our next steps?
