US Embassy planning a Humanitarian flight for the 8th of May, 2020, for those that may be interested with Spirit Airlines to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Currently, the flight is full, but there could be a cancellation by a passenger, or two, so make sure your name is on the list at the Embassy.
Embassy recommends monitoring the Spirit web site ( www.spirit.com ) for any openings due to cancellations.
This could be the last programmed flight out of Panama for the time being.
But one may never know when another flight could be planned.
………..
Along with the burden of the quarantine, which means staying home - limited to no outside movement other than time allotted for two hour windows, the regular flu season is upon us as noted in the last message that went out. This was an advisory from the Health Ministry before the start of the rainy season.
Massive program ongoing to inoculate, first everyone on the front line, then those 60 years of age and over. Hopefully all the rest later.
As noted in the last message, members of PCABP - AXA can call and program flu shots at the hospital indicated in that message. After talking to a couple of members, seems the 800-6467 phone number is not responding as one would expect. Maybe because that is the MINSA number.
PCABP members can call 366-1400 to arrange an appointment starting this week, May 4th or May 5th for your respective gender.
See attached flyer.
You can also go to the Panama Canal Area Benefits Plan site at: www.pcabp.com.pa

One of our lodge member, Ed Wardlow, noted that the clinic in Albrook does have the means of admistring influenza vaccinations, and the doctor will even come to your residence for innoculation. Dr. Mumford can be contacted at her WhatsApp # 6949-5656, but be aware, each shot is $85.00, two for $170.00.

And with the rainy season, a new threat is also announced, that of mosquitos, and the dengue mosquito in particular.
Health authorities recommend eliminating standing water where mosquitos can breed.
Protection is normally, long sleeve shirts, hat, long pants, socks, repellent with DEET.
Also remember, its mandatory to wear a face mask while out in public.
