COMMUNIQUE No. 92

First of June begins the opening of the second phase

Since last January, when the National Government became aware of the risk posed by the appearance of COVID-19, it took all sanitary measures in order to safeguard the lives of those who inhabit the national territory.

From this context, it was decided to establish a quarantine, which although it has been difficult and unprecedented, since it has required the sacrifice of the entire population, its fundamental purpose has been to save lives.

This decision of confinement and physical distancing has also entailed great responsibility, commitment and transparency, where health workers and security agencies have played an important role, as has the private sector, which has provided donations that have greatly facilitated resources and supplies for the fight against COVID-19.

From the next Monday, June 1, the opening of the second block of economic activities begins, which requires a shared responsibility of the entire society, since it will pass from the control of the mobilization by ID card to a curfew that will be established from 7 pm to 5 am the next day.

In parallel, children will be able to move from 4 in the afternoon to 7 at night accompanied by their parents, caregivers or guardians. This relaxation does not include social, cultural, festive group activities, visits to beaches, contact sports, or any other that does not comply with physical distance.

At this time, when the process of lifting the confinement has begun, the Ministry of Health reiterates the message about the importance of caring for older adults and each member of our families.

In addition, it requires strict compliance with measures such as: the use of masks, hand washing and physical distance, as well as staying at home if you do not have the obligatory need to go out.

The success achieved with the implementation of this second block in the journey towards the "new normal" will allow subsequent blocks to be opened without delay and with the least risk, following the biosafety guidelines established by the Ministry of Health.
