From the source I found at least, Panama was the number one rated place for retirees last year and Portugal is rated number one this year. (But Panama is still up there, in second place).
So now I'm looking around at Portugal too since we can't go anywhere right now anyway...
Obviously they're two different places so will each have their plusses and minuses. Just wondering if anyone has any input.
A couple of things that stood out to me: It's easier to get permanent residency in Panama. And Panama is a couple of hours shorter flight (for me).
Portugal seems somewhat wealthier. It is also not open to US tourists now but may be on July 1.
