My wife and I are considering spending a couple weeks in Panama next year, probably in February or March. It would be our first time in Panama but we have been to the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Ecuador and Colombia as well as Mexico.
We are leaning towards retiring abroad eventually. We currently live in Michigan and I do not foresee us wanting to spend retirement here.
So some of our goals on the first trip to Panama is to have some fun and see some of the country. We enjoy bird watching, sea kayaking and scuba diving. If we were to retire to Panama we would likely live in some of the higher elevation areas as opposed to at the beach. It is too hot for us at the beach.
Anyway just wanted to reach out to you all and see about getting some input on places to go and possibly some recommendations on scuba or kayaking shops as well as a bird watching guide. I have heard of the Canopy Tower company and we might use them but I suspect that would be more expensive than we would be able to afford.
We rented a car for 2 weeks in February of this year when we visited Colombia and might do the same in Panama in order to get around easily and on our own schedule (plus my wife is quite prone to motion sickness so she does best by far if she is the driver). Thanks for any helpful input!
