Itinerary mandatory?

Hey all!
'Mrs. Wing' and I have our tickets and car reserved for first couple weeks of December. Read somewhere a comment re: checking in at Tocumen and wanted to check with the experts here. Do you have to have an itinerary IE: where will you be staying? (What hotel etc) We will be looking at places to live/homes and had intended to play it by ear, staying here and there, wherever we wanted to spend a day or two. Areas are: Dolega, Boqueron, Bugaba/Sortova, Puerto Armuelles and the Azuera peninsula. Hate to be tied to any specific location but if it is required, I've gotta come up with a plan soon! Thanks for all your help on this and other posts!
