I'm interested in hearing from folks who qualified for both the Pensionado visa and the Friendly Nations visa about which you chose and why. (For reference, I'm an American citizen who likely qualifies for both, and I'm particularly interested in the possibility of dual citizenship.)
The Pensionado visa looks much easier to obtain initially, but the Friendly Nations visa allows for eventual Panamanian citizenship. Are there any other advantages the Pensionado visa has besides an easier application process?
Has anyone started out with the Pensionado visa and then eventually decided to pursue citizenship by changing to a different visa? If so, how easy was that process? For anyone who has dual citizenship, any notable benefits or detriments to having your Panamanian citizenship?
Thanks!
