I'm not finding much information on what one can't bring in luggage when entering Panama by air. My first trip will be to explore for several months and start the visa process if I like it, so I'm hoping to bring more than a typical tourist. Specific questions:
Any limitations on personal care items (for example TSA says there's no limits on liquids like shampoo, lotion, etc. in checked luggage but American Airlines limits you to 70oz total). Will customs in Panama care about anything in particular as far as this stuff goes?
I know prescription medication is fine with a copy of the prescription, but what about things like vitamins, herbal powders, etc.? If they're sealed in original packaging is it still advisable to bring a doctor's note?
I prefer to travel with a decent emergency kit, including a multitool (with small knife) and small package of survival food tablets. Would these things be considered prohibited weapons and food by customs?
Anything else you recommend *not* bringing in order to avoid trouble with customs? I might be overthinking it, but flying in Asia I was often surprised by what's restricted so now I try to be prepared. Thanks!
