Canadian Criminal Record Check

Hi, I'm using a Panamanian lawyer to help me obtain my Friendly Nations visa before the big August change. But I have a large bottleneck: I'm in Volcan now and still need to get my Canadian (RCMP) criminal record check done.

There are several Canadian businesses accredited by the RCMP to assist in this for people out of Canada. I am thinking of using Worldwide Forensic Services Inc. They will send my fingerprints to the RCMP and then to the Panamanian consulate in Toronto for legalization, but they say they must also send the RCMP's results to the Department of Foreign Affairs for authentication before it goes to the embassy.

Have any of you Canadians who processed your criminal record checks had to go thru DFAIT before the Panamanian embassy or consulate?
