Greetings everyone.! My name is Bethany, and will be retiring from a 30 year career as an elementary teacher, in December. I have taught internationally in four different countries and am now, for the past six years, teaching in "bush" AK. Can't wait to get out of this extreme cold teaching assignment near Prudhoe Bay, AK and make a 180 degree change for my retirement years!! I am focusing on towns that "make much of" a friendly expat population and have a plethora of volunteer opportunities. I will start out in January and backpack from PC to Bocas del Toro, with a focus on El Valle, Boquete, Chiriqui and Bocas. I hope to earn exchange rent by staying in hostels through www.workaway.com. Throughout this "covid period", I have taken stock and acknowledge that I have lost my "mojo" and myself. Any thoughts or encouragement are welcomed! My biggest question for now is what phone service I can use to call home; I will be traveling with my new ipad. Cheers to all !!
