Pensionado versus Residente Permanente

13 years ago when I was first getting involved in what was to become a defunct retirement community in Volcan, the discounts for foreigners holding a "Pensionado" seemed appealing. But I was encouraged to instead seek a permanent residence permit by the Director of another community in Veraguas, and after great expense and hassle that was obtained. But now I am wondering if that more formal permit from the Panamanian authorities still entitles me to the same discounts as the "Pensionado", or not?
