Another Phone Question re Verizon

Greetings,

Does anyone us WiFi calling on their US based phone? We are with Verizon on an iPhone XS in the US. I just did this when we were in the Caymans for a week. I set the phone to airplane mode with WiFi calling enabled. As long as I had WiFi I was able to make calls and texts. We were only there for a week but I did not get any international roaming charges.

I also have an old unlocked iPhone 7 that I plan to get a Tigo unlimited prepaid SIM with.

I am looking to have something that will be connected to some verification apps for work. They are set to my current US number.

We will be in Panama for 6 weeks.
Thanks.
