Cinta Costera question

Hi. Do any of you living in PC know if there's ever been talk about doing something with that section between cinta costera and casco viejo. I just find it very strange that you have this nice walking path that's all put together and well maintained with overpasses accross balboa, but once you get to casco viejo it's a mad dash accross the street to get on the other side. Have there been any suggestions/talks about extending this so it has a more natural connection to CV ? Just curious...
