Not showing visa when entering Panama

I have was issued a Panamanian temporary visa ID card. My pensionado visa is approved, but I need to get a photo taken to get my permanent visa ID card.

If I come into Panama by airflight and just show my passport, am I violating any ordinance or law by not declaring my Panamanian visa status? When the check my passport, I assume there is a status that would indicate a visa is pending, but I do not know if that is something they check at the airport.

The reason for the question is I cannot find my visa ID card, and I would prefer not to hassle with this at the airport when I arrive.
