Visiting and Living in Panama on a Passport

My Spouse and I are moving to Panama in October 2023. We have a family member who wants to see if she can live on the Caribbean heat/humidity of the Panama City area. She is considering visiting for up to 180 days, then returning for another 180 days.
1. It is my understanding that a U.S. Citizen can visit Panama up to 180 days on a Passport. Is that correct?
2. If a Passport carrying U.S. stays in Panama for 180 days, how many days does the person have to remain outside Panama, before they come back to stay another 180 days, and, how often can they do this.
Thank you for your responses.
