The best place for me?

I am retired, will be 68 soon, and somewhat of a loner. I enjoy friendships on a small scale, but shy away from large gatherings. I love to walk and would not miss my car at all if I didn't need one. I would love to live in a quiet place where I can meet most of my shopping and daily needs on foot. I know there will be times when I will need transportation for other things. I really don't want to own anything anymore and would rather rent a small furnished place where I can do my own thing.

Boquete seems like the kind of place I am looking for. Am I right and are there other places that would meet my wants and needs?
