My apologies for omitting mentioning about your health Ins.
That would be more important than talking with an Attorney about your record. Sorry , that really is a deal breaker for you. If I was in your shoes, I'd consider moving to the smallest US town where cost of living and health insurance would still be affordable for you.
That would be my last option if Panama or Peru don't work out for me. It'll take some adjustment, but at least you won't have the Language barrier, while you'll still have the quality of service and products you are accustom to.
