We're taking our ques on where to look from internationalliving.com so we're exploring Panama until Feb 10, '24. Boquete was nice but not being considered. Bocas del Toro has more potential. We're heading to Santa Catalina to snorkel a couple of days & know nothing about living there, then we'll stop in El Valle on our way to Panama City (ONLY for the canal-we don't want to move to a large city).
We don't necessarily need to live on the beach but a close drive to one would be nice, looking for a smaller community (5,000 or so?) that isn't too far from a larger population for ease when it comes to groceries, etc.
We were given suggestions of towns to consider but they're all east of Panama City-getting too close to the Darien Gap for our comfort and we've read to avoid Colon & Panama provinces due to crime.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Our sincere gratitude in advance for any insight offered.
