The Canal

Hola -
I am looking at establishing a residence in Panama - or somewhere in the Central American region. With all the good RE analysis and local positive reviews I don't see mention of the situation with the canal, changing weather patterns, possible drought and threat to the canal which by all accounts would result in instability in the region both economically and otherwise. There's no place in the world without risks of various sorts but any thoughts from those who are better informed that I am?
