requirements for retirement visa

Hi Everyone, I am living in Peru on a tourist visa, I would like to apply for a retirement visa. My social security is just $8oo per month. I know that you need to show a income of $1000 per month. My question is can I use my investment income (I recieve a monthly check from investment) to get over the $1000 min? I can't seem to find a answer to that question in my searches. Thanks for any and all help. Much appreciated.
